When you inadvertently delete files you wanted to keep it is seldom too late to recover them. Anyone can use a tool to recover deleted files provided thay have not overwritten the data they need to rescue. For this reason whenever you accidentally delete a needed file immediatly begin the process of recovery. Do not ever keep working twith the computer as you will likely scramble the data you want to rescue.  Another fact to remember is that different operatin systems require different programds to recover deleted files. A windows file recvoery program will not rescue files lost on a MAC.

How to recover deleted files

When a file is deleted from a Windows Operating System the contents of the file are rarely destroyed and to recover those deleted files you need to have third party utilities that can deeply scan the windows partitions and provides you a list of the recoverable deleted files.

Almost all data recovery software capable of recovering deleted files are termed as Undelete, it reconstructs the link to deleted files without affecting original files by working in a read-only mode.

Listed below are some of the file deletion situations:

  • Files and Folders Emptied from the Recycle Bin
  • Files and Folders Deleted by virus, malware or accidental deletion with shift+del
  • Files and Folders Deleted using “rd” command using DOS command prompt

Undelete software supports and recovers from both NTFS and FAT file system and from all the above mentioned file deletion situations.

The software can recover deleted files from your hard drives, USB devices, Digital cameras, MP3 players, USB memory sticks, Flash drives and ZIP drives.

Note: Do not copy or store new files on the partition / drive from where you are trying to recover deleted files as there are chances of deleted files getting overwritten and making recovery of such files impossible.
